Innovation Leader: As the founder of Primus Technology, she is at the helm of a company that is driving cutting-edge technologies. Her visionary approach and exceptional expertise aim to propel our partners to the forefront of their industry. Beyond her role in the corporate world, Professor Primus is known for founding transformative centres, including the Centre for Applied Data Science (CADS) and the Technopreneurship Centre at the University of Johannesburg. These centres bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship to address real-world challenges.
Advocate for Inclusivity: Prof. Mpho Primus currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA) since October 2024, where she also chairs the Programme and Academic Committee (PAAC). She is a Trustee of the IDEMIA Black Women’s Trust, a role she has held since April 2022, advocating for diversity and inclusion in technology and innovation. Additionally, she was an Advisory Board Member of the Pan African Information Communication Technology Association (PAICTA) from April 2022 to November 2024. Previously, she served as a Non-Executive Director on the City of Johannesburg’s Group Advisory Committee on Smart City/4IR, playing a key role in shaping the city’s smart technology initiatives.
